I know I said I was taking a break for the Holiday, but I wanted to send a quick note, asking for a small favor from my subscribers. Since the initial publication of my first book, Chasing Picasso: The True Story of a Daytime Heist on Art Hill, I have had some new leads in the case of the missing painting. But recovering the art, or at least discovering its location, requires that there is a wider interest in the topic (beyond Missouri) and into potential markets where the painting may have been sold to in the early 1970s.
One way to accomplish this is to expand the number of book reviews. Authors are always looking at ways to expand their audience, but not all have a specific goal like trying to locate the whereabouts of a stolen Picasso oil painting lifted from a local museum in 1973.
If you have read my book, Chasing Picasso, and enjoyed it, you can help in this quest simply by leaving a review. Here’s how:
DIRECT SALES: If I sold Chasing Picasso to you (book signings, golf outings, happy hour, etc.) or it was given to you through a mutual friend, then please leave a brief comment on my Substack Book page. Please click on this link to go to the review page on Substack. Though the platform doesn’t have a rating system, just say something friendly.
NATIONAL BOOK RETAILERS: (i.e., Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.) Leave a review via the retailer under the book listing/description. The retailer might verify your post, so just note you might not see it show up on the site right away.
Thanks to all the subscribers that have already left reviews. Your comments help!
If you have no idea what I am talking about, but intrigued about the story of the missing Picasso from the Saint Louis Art Museum, then visit cjoanbaker.com or go directly to any online book retailer and enter the title, Chasing Picasso by C. Joan Baker. You can also request/order it from local book stores as well. Below are quickly links to Amazon books.
